Just For The Record

I don't know where to begin...let's see...I have taken a break from my religious, metaphysical, and philosophical studies. I am still maintaining my altar and saying prayers, but any further research would only make for confusion. I am also feeling Saturn's influence as it finishes moving in Scorpio and moves into Sagittarius on the 23rd.

I've been doing some soul-searching and I'm trying to clean up some of the cobwebs left hanging onto my ego and will. I am always trying to do and feel better but something inside me keeps me from following up on any of my intentions. I really believe that it is the stuff still clinging on that is holding me back. Regrets cloud my judgement almost everyday.

Check back if you want and see how things are progressing. I hope to get back to posting on a regular basis.

Going Round The Mulberry Bush

I was reading an article about how the Kabbalistic notion of the kelipot related to autonemous complexes in psychology when I began seeing correlations with these two and the Hindu and Buddhist notion of the Dakini. While continuing to read I started thinking about my notion of having three phases to my life. Why was I trying so hard to find a way to tie everything together? Could it even be done?

I had unconsciously decided that summing it all up into a nice single answer would be the best goal to my just beginning integration phase. But I think I was wrong to do that. I'll never be able to sum it all up, put it in a nice box, tie a pretty ribbon on it, and stand back and say, "Ta, Da! I figured it out!" The more things I draw conclusions on and discover answers for, the more the questions appear.

I am left to speculate on what my end game should be. What could be a reasonable ultimate goal for my life? What could be the outcome from my integrating the two previous phases of my life? Why do I feel like this quest for the ultimate answer has to be achieved before I can fully integrate? I feel as though my integration requires a summation.

My word...
I think I'll go play with Lego's awhile...

Where To Go From Here...

Hey guys,

It seems that I am long overdue for a heart to heart with you. I can describe where I am now by saying that these are surely emotionally tumultuous times. I have come to the realization that I think my life will have three stages. First there was the sure young man seeking outward growth, second there was the inner seeker years from which I am now emerging and I think third there will be the integration years where I put the two together toward some goal that I'm unsure of now. This realization has really hit me kind of hard, and I'm trying to get my bearings. I'm scared to death actually, to be honest with you.

What if we could all become our ideal vision of ourselves?

There Are No Limits...

Energy goes where attention goes...

The absence of an impossible way of existing.

I am independent of the good or bad opinion of others.

I am beneath no one, superior to no one.

I am fearless of any challenge. (...said the cowardly lion...)

What extreme energy are you feeling?

Are you not facing the truth about something?

Anything you let go of will soon be replaced by something else...

A glimpse beyond the veil...

Had enough or do you want more? Well, I'll satisfy both audiences by saying that it's been a really tiresome, stress filled day and I actually think that I've had enough, so I'll call it a night. For all you screaming fans, please calm down and rest easy that I will be back. For those of you that could give a rat's ass, well you should. Because in this tiny bit of a Blog Kingdom at least.....This Bitch Rules! Okay, so now I'm having visions of , "The Mouse That Roared"...

Absence Is Sweet, But Damned!

Okay, here goes...

That was some dead air...huh? I've recently been through a spiritual, mental, and financial meltdown and had decided that I wasn't sure I'd ever be able to write again. I was telling a friend about how I felt and what all I have recently been through and I mentioned that, I couldn't begin to express what I had been experiencing and feeling... Actually I said, "I can't write....no wait, I mean, I'm having difficulty writing (because I'm trying to stop saying I can't...but on with the story), .We both came to the agreement at the same time that I could still write, it was just that I was having trouble right now. A writer's block. Ah, hahhh! That I know how to fix! So that's what finds me here tonight taking my first plunge. The best cure for writer's block is to write...

Cured

I just took a look at the postings I had done labeled, "Hepatitis C" and realized that none of them told you that my last treatment had been completely successful. I am cured of Hepatitis C...I don't have it anymore!

Gratitude From A Hat

My therapist and I are starting to get into some of the issues I still carry from the events that led up to my years of homelessness. We talked about how it would be a good thing to try and find something positive about what happened. She wanted me to find a way to creatively express it. The best way to start the process is for me to make a list of some of my thoughts about the time I spent homeless.

I met two of the dearest, closest friends I've ever had in my life. One with a huge white puff-ball on her head, and the other a little lost girl that played with fire.

I was able to go back to school long enough to learn the computer skills I have now.

I met quite a few extraordinary people. Some who were truly of the earth. Some very brave and courageous. Some had wills of fire, Some were simply noble. Some were bad. Some were downright evil. Some were funny. Some were hilarious, and there were the few that were bat shit crazy.

There's a price for everything. People aren't very willing to do anything for you  for free. The key question being, "What's in it for me?"

Unlike Blanche from, "A Streetcar Named Desire," I have not been able to rely on the kindness of strangers

The chilly, rainy days when there was no place to go. When being wet and miserable just had to be accepted. When you're huddled on the doorstep of an out-of-the-way place in town, and things look their bleakest. You realize just how alone you really are.

I had the wonderful opportunity to test my vocation for six months in a Russian Orthodox Christian Monastery that used to be in Georgia.

You ALWAYS have to watch your back.

The Winds Of Change

“Humanity sits poised at a precipice; in front of us is an indeterminable pathway, behind us is the shell of a decaying age. We are at the crossroads of our experience; already actions, as well as thinking processes are being set which will determine the nature of a new and extraordinary destiny. Our survival as a thinking species and as well all living things upon the Earth now hangs in the mercy of the Winds of Change. Winds that no longer blow quiet warnings, rather they carry with them a somewhat foreboding message and always deliver a swift altering of our contrived reality through extremely volatile occurrences.”

Dr. Robert Wolf

"As sensitive human beings experiencing such global trauma, we must stay calm and sure, remain at peace, grounded and centred. We must not be carried away by the media messages. In fact, it’s far more healthy to disconnect from TV, newspapers and radio news. The media channels express the darkness and fear that exists on the outer edge of the wound. They suppress the joy of the arising heart beating within the global psyche. A new earth is emerging and forming from the flames of the fear and control that has been our heritage."

David G. Arenson

May the world and all sentient beings ride on the wings of the phoenix as he rises from the ashes of our corrupt and outdated way of being. And as my grandmother would say, "And may we have a little more sense this time..."

Let Go Of The World

Take a few minutes to think, not of what's waiting for you to do, not what you should do, or what you could have done, but about what pleases you most. Dream a little house, room by room. Dream a walk through the garden you'd love to own, plant by plant. Dream a walk through the woods and the plants and animals you will see. If you love a rainy day dream that you can smell and hear the rain. If you love the lake or the ocean...dream that. Take a minute to let go of the world.

Falling Slowly

I don't know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can't react
And games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice, you have a choice
You've made it now

Falling slowly, eyes that know me
And I can't go back
And moods that take me and erase me
And I'm painted black
Well you have suffered enough
And warred with yourself
It's time that you won

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice, you have a choice
You've made it now
Falling slowly sing your melody
I'll sing along

Just Riding Around

Okay, I've decided to add yet two more deity's to my sadhana...Kali, and Durga. I think I am going to get two thangka to put centrally on my Altar. I also need to get one of Vishnu. I'm going to have to invest in some statuary so I can perform a real puja. Right now I reverence and honor the gods by using the thangka as best as I can. I did a little nosing around into the nature of Samadhi which is an ego transcending state of consciousness. Pretty cool stuff if your interested. I also ran across a really good article by Darity Wesley that you should take a look at. Oracle for August - Authenticity.

Spiritual Strategy

I have been doing an incredible amount of research, delving deeply into Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, and Tantric Yoga theory. The whole time I've also been bringing up issues from my past that I haven't fully dealt with....the things that I have stuffed. I've had to start working through some of it because in order for them to continue existing within me they have been causing me to subconsciously or unconsciously manifest them in negative thinking and behavior. It's time for me to put them to rest once and for all. Anyway...I got to thinking yesterday about my devotion to Ardhnarishwara. I was considering changing the focus of my Hindu Sadhana (spiritual practice) on Vishnu instead. The more I have contemplated it the more I think I won't change. I will just add more attention to Vishnu. I will probably spend as much time on Vishnu as I spend on Hanuman now. Through all this change and mental activity ( all geared toward reaching my full potential and giving me some clear idea of where I stood spiritually) there has been my Pagan/Wicca beliefs and practices. They have given me a steady foundation from which  I could launch myself in any area I saw fit. They supplied me with a trustworthy tether with which I could safely anchor myself. And when I was ready to rest a weary head, they were there to envelop me in a soft blanket made from early summer moss. I am truly grateful. And then there's the moon that keeps me on track with her never ending cycle. Oh, I didn't share this...I can't believe I haven't already mentioned it. The last treatment I went through for the Hepatitis C Virus was successful! I am cured! Isn't that awesome! Well, that's about all that I wanted to share I guess. I'm leaving the fact that I have somehow gotten Bell's Palsy out kind of on purpose...I'm dealing with it quite well and from the very beginning have seen it as the result of some really bad karmic seeds I must have planted in my past. I am thankfully able to see the absurdity of it, and to be able to see irony in it. While writing I have realized something. It is not I who should be pursuing spirituality, but I should be concentrating on increasing my awareness of it already being within me and in letting it manifest in my outward life. Like the old saying...Let Go And Let God...

Enjoy life guys!

Find Your Inner Yin Yang

You Just Never Know...

Hey guys,

If you have been coming to my blog for awhile then you know that sometimes I go for weeks without posting anything. If you have just found me then now you know! In either case, I hope you keep checking back periodically to see what's happening. You never know what I'm going to post on here. As you may know, I love to study Paganism, Wicca, Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism, and Tantric Yoga Theory. I have been pretty busy on my other blog, Oracle In The Wind. I also spent a weekend out of town visiting an old friend of mine. I woke up this morning to find that my right eye didn't want to close and that my mouth felt like I had been to the dentist and had some major work done. I thought that I might have had a mild stroke or something so I went to the emergency room. Turns out I have Bell's Palsy. They don't know what causes it, but they think it might be some sort of virus. It is an inflammation of the nerves that control facial muscles. When I blink my left eye does, but my right one stays open. It looks pretty freaky. The right side of my mouth is paralyzed too. Let me tell you it is hard as heck to eat a hot dog with your mouth partially paralyzed! They told me that it wouldn't be permanent....it will just take some time for things to get back to normal. You never know what's going to happen, do ya? Anyway, keep checking back in with me and as always...

Under Construction

"I find it quite interesting that the word “person” was originally used to designate a “mask” or a “false face” in ancient Greece. It came to be used in the context of drama as an “assumed character”; eventually this linguistic usage stuck in our common language to designate a human being. Perhaps this is because life and the works of art work very similar. There seems to be some sort of script that we follow in order to operate in society. Even if we don’t follow any script that has been given to us from the outside, there is always an internal construction of who we are, an identity. We can change this construction, but we can never get rid of it. This is why there is always a reinvention and not a suppression of the self. Ideally, a self that is flexible, comprehensive and compassionate. We possess hyper complex structures that allow us to create our own self, we are autopoietic beings (from auto-self, and poiesis-creation). We create unique entities, with unique stories within a broader story. This means that we, as individual, have three functions, as described by the Spanish philosopher Xavier Zubiri: as agents, authors and actors. As agents, we execute the actions; as authors, we choose creatively over other possible actions; and as actors, we are inscribed in a broader reality that surpass us, but where we can make an impact. Just like “pure” reality can never be seen because it is seen in a particular way (with our eyes, a specific band of colors, etc.), we can never be without a mask. Behind every mask there is a mask. What mask do we want to wear? Personally, I wish to wear a magical one. When somebody asks us: who are you? We respond with our name, or occupation and things of that sort. But why don’t we say that we are someone who dreams of such things? Why don’t we respond that we are a child of the universe who dances to the sound of the singing air? Why don’t we respond that we are, under construction?"

On Love And The Self

“The paradox is that by being ‘in love’ we are in fact falling in love with ourselves, and we have an opportunity to see ourselves in the eyes of another. It is an ecstatic place to be, the dance of romantic love, and one that cannot be denied, for it is the place where we are most likely to experience a divine tango with our soul. Love and myth go hand in hand, for myth is the most exquisite mirror of all for the reflection of self.”

Just an Update On Things...

I don't know what happened, but I woke up this past Saturday with a really bad fever. Whatever I had hit me like a freight truck. I was really sick for three days and on the mend for two. This is my third day being on the mend and I still feel like holy crap. I want to start doing some stuff but I just don't have any energy at all. Man, actually I think I'm going to have to wrap this post up and just say hello, and let you know I'll write more later.

Another Day In The Life

Hey guys! I just wanted to let ya'll know that I haven't abandoned this blog...actually, I will probably maintain this blog the rest of my life. It's my  personal online journal and it helps me sometimes to write here. It's just that I recently remembered that back in 2007 when I started this blog, I had started two other blogs as well. It took me a little bit of time to remember how to log in to them, but I finally did. I had to do a little cleaning and redesigning, but I started them back up. I am keeping this blog as a personal journal type blog. One of the other blogs is an ongoing work of fiction. I want it to be completely anonymous, so I'm not sharing the name of the blog or anything on here....sorry....if you happen to find it then great, I hope you like it and keep going back, but otherwise I want to remain anonymous on it. The other one is strictly for sharing my spiritual journey. I am trying to develop a community of spiritual seekers by sharing my story and the knowledge of spiritual things that I have acquired. I will share it with you guys...here's a link. Oracle In The Wind Anyway, that's why I haven't posted anything on here for awhile. I've been doing a lot of work on it. I was doing a google image search the other day and I think I had typed in, magickal element of fire or something like that. I didn't find any images I could use for the article I was doing, but I did run across some cool pictures that I want to share. I don't know what they are, what their name  is or who the artist is....sorry....if anybody knows then  please make a comment and let me know. Here they are:

Well, I guess that's all for now. I will probably be going to drum circle tonight, and I want to participate in a Shiva and Sri Chakra Puja on Saturday and a group meditation on Sunday morning...we'll see. I'll probably check back in with you guys on Sunday. Check out The Oracle and let me know what you think.

Dead Letter And The Infinite Yes

I found a letter it read
"Our existence has serious side effects"
Turned on, turn on the television
and It's telling me the world is collapsing
I think it's coming and it comes so fast
I'm hearing whispers of an infinite yes
And I don't know why it is
Our bodies are dead, why you look so sad?
And my therapist said
"We've evolved through a series of accidents"
There's been talk of chemical imbalances
Restless sense of detachment, nausea and/or violence
I think it's coming oh and it comes so fast
I'm hearing whispers of an infinite yes
And I don't know why it is
I feel it coming, I think it's real and significant
I think I think I think a little too often
That's what my therapist said
We're alone in this wilderness
Left to choke on the pills and to feed on the viruses
I think it's coming oh and it comes so fast
I think it's coming and it comes so fast
I'm hearing whispers of an infinite yes
Our bodies are dead, why you look so sad
Our bodies are dead, why you look so sad

Fairy Tales And Castles

He says, he looks in the mirror, he can't tell anymore
Who he really is and who they believe him to be
And he says he walks a thin line between what is and what could be
He's getting closer to something he can't understand
'Cause there's a crack in his plastic crown
And his throne of ice is melting, he climbed his ladder
There was nothing there and now it's a long way down
'Cause on and on and on he goes dancing on the grave
Of what he thought was still alive on and on and on he goes
Dancing in mansions made of twigs and castles made of sand
He says his head is filled with cartoons and fairy tales
And he's trapped inside a dungeon of dolls
With smiles on their faces
He's built a pretty cage
Hit shows on a beautiful stage
With candy coated prison bars
And chains that look like jeweler y
'Cause there's a crack in his plastic crown
And his throne of ice is melting he climbed his ladder
There was nothing there and now it's a long way down
'Cause on and on and on he goes dancing on the grave
Of what he thought was still alive on and on and on he goes
Dancing in mansions made of twigs and castles made of sand
'Cause he lives inside
Of fairy tails and castles now
And there's room inside
For false expectations and illusions
'Cause there's a crack in his plastic crown
And his throne of ice is melting he climbed his ladder
There was nothing there and now it's a long way down
It's a long way down
'Cause on and on and on he goes dancing on the grave
Of what he thought was still alive on and on and on he goes
Dancing in mansions made of twigs and castles made of sand
'Cause on and on and on he goes dancing on the grave
Of what he thought was still alive on and on and on he goes
Dancing in mansions made of twigs and castles made of sand
'Cause on and on and on he goes dancing on the grave
Of what he thought was still alive on and on and on he goes

The Supreme Teacher

I salute the supreme teacher, the Truth, whose Nature is Bliss; who is the giver of the highest happiness; who is pure wisdom; who is beyond all qualities and infinite like the sky; who is beyond words; who is one and eternal, pure and still; who is beyond all change and phenomena and who is the silent witness to all our thoughts and emotions - I salute Truth, the supreme teacher.

More Crystal Visions

I added a few new stones and crystals to my collection and thought I'd tell you about them...

I got a couple of Pink Peruvian (Andean) Opals. They are specifically helpful for those who find it difficult to face challenge and change. Andean Opal helps to ease into any change with joy in your heart. It is wonderful to use in the manifestation of your dreams and achieving your goals as it reminds us of our higher potential and our divine nature, which is one of perfection. Working with Andean Opal can help to instill a sense of loyalty and faithfulness in both personal and business relationships. It also will assist to open/awaken the intuition. Andean Opal will not only open your lines of intuitive communication, but also the understanding of the messages received. It is a true one on one connection with the spiritual realms of being. It can also help to release old patterns which are no longer useful or necessary.

I also got a beautiful Rainbow Fluorite which increases intuitive abilities and links the human mind to universal consciousness, and develops connection to the spirit realm. It further anchors intuitive insights into the physical plane, allowing mental and physical coordination. Rainbow Fluorite heightens mental abilities, assisting in rapid organization and processing of information, and it can bring mental clarity and stability to an otherwise chaotic situation.

Transcendental Euphoria

Floating on a enveloping opiate cloud down the sidewalk from getting a twelve-pack of a beer made locally, I was questioning myself about what it was that kept me ensnared in addiction. The beer is appropriately named Bed of Nails....What was this feeling that I can't have it any other way? A feeling that regardless of what physical pain I'm feeling, what emotional turmoil I'm experiencing, and what horrible surroundings I'm in, (...keep in mind that once I'm in my apartment, I'm in sanctuary....) everything is okay because it's wrapped snuggly in humming love.

Pearls and swine bereft of me
Long and weary my road has been
I was lost in the cities
Alone in the hills
No sorrow or pity for leaving I feel

I am not your rolling wheels
I am the highway
I am not your carpet ride
I am the sky

Friends and liars don't wait for me
I'll get on all by myself
I put millions of miles
Under my heels

And still too close to you
I feel
I am not your blowing wind
I am the lightening
I am not your autumn moon
I am the night

The night

That's Audioslave's song, "I Am The Highway," by the way. I'm still trying to figure this out. Maybe one day I will....until then I continue to try and keep my head above water....searching for the shore...

Crystal Visions

I decided that I would share a list of the crystals that I now have and their metaphysical properties. Most of these stones are on a table I like to call my "manifestation table." It is in the center of where I cast my circles on the New and Full Moons. I also have a piece of skin that a snake had shed that I found. That represents to me rebirth. A letting go of the past and a chance to for rebirth and growth. I have a bear's claw as well which represents to me strength. The strength to carry on even when times get tough. Here is my list:

Celestite - It has been called a "Teacher for the New Age” and connects to the divine energy of angelic realms. These crystals can bring harmony and inner peace, and can be used with the Third Eye Chakra. Celestite can also be used to balance the Throat Chakra. Its ability to heighten divine intuition makes Celestite especially useful for a Reiki practice. Celestite gives courage to those who suffer from agoraphobia (fear of crowds), public speaking or even stage fright.

Scolecite - This stone works best on the Third Eye and Crown Chakras, instilling a sense of peace and stillness to the mind and body. It is especially beneficial to those who are driven to panic attacks in crowded rooms, bringing about a calm and relaxed state of mind. Scolecite brings about a restful sleep, which is ideal for insomniacs. Meditating with Scolecite enhances communication with spirit guides. In the workplace or home, Scolecite brings about a “team” atmosphere, helping all to work toward a common goal.

Apophylite - This crystal cleanses and balances the Heart Chakra energy. It can bring clarity to decisions and situations of the heart by allowing the holder to see all sides of the issue, untainted by fear or ego. Green Apophyllite can assist in the "letting go" of issues that no longer serve and allow the act of forgiveness and healing. It will balance the emotions with a gentle, loving energy and enhance spiritual growth.

Green Aventurine -  This stone comforts, harmonizes, and protects the heart, and can help attract love later in life. Green Aventurine is good for working with the Heart Chakra and with the Water Elements. Green Aventurine is known as the good luck stone and is often used in rituals with green candles, or kept in cash boxes or drawers to attract money. It has a particularly soothing energy behind it, and is recommended for working through unresolved emotional issues.

Amethyst - An Amethyst is a powerful and protective crystal, it was used in ancient times to recover from both physical addictions as well as addictive relationships, and became know as the “stone of sobriety”. A natural stress reliever, Amethyst encourages and supports inner strength. The strong healing energy of Amethyst can transmute lower vibrations to higher frequencies, transforming negative energy to love energy.
This crystal connects the physical plane with higher realm, making it a good choice when working with the Third Eye Chakra. Amethyst also provides a wonderful peaceful energy for meditations, and helps with developing intuition and psychic abilities. It opens and activates the Crown Chakra, allowing easier access to the divine. Amethyst enhances spiritual awareness and spiritual wisdom, promoting a higher state of consciousness. Amethyst clears and repairs holes in the aura and draws in Divine energy, as well as aligning and fostering cooperation between the energy bodies.

Blue Tiger Eye (Hawk's Eye) - This is a very calming stone and reduces stress. Blue Tiger Eye can help to calm an overactive sex drive, and is good for the Throat and Third Eye Chakras. Shimmery Blue Tiger Eye can illuminate issues that may have been difficult to see otherwise. While all forms of Tiger Eye help to raise vibrations, Tiger Eye also balances higher energies with the lower Chakras, which keeps you feeling connected when working with higher goals.

Golden Tiger Eye - Combining Earth energy with that of the Sun, Golden Brown Tiger Eye draws Spiritual energy down to the Earth, while still keeping you centered here on the ground. Tiger Eye helps to raise vibrations, while also connecting these higher energies to the lower Chakras, keeping you feeling in balance and connected when working with higher goals. Sunny Tiger Eye brings brightness and optimism to a situation, and shines insight onto problems. Known as a stone of protection, especially for travelers, Tiger Eye brings good luck and prosperity to the user. Ancients used Tiger Eye as a talisman against bad luck and curses. Tiger Eye attracts abundance and can also stimulate the rise of Kundalini energies. Golden Tiger Eye is a powerful Solar Plexus Chakra stone, helpful in manifesting ideas into reality and giving courage in times of change. Use Golden Brown Tiger Eye with the Solar Plexus Chakra to increase your personal power. With intention, surround a lit green candle with Tiger Eye to attract prosperity.

Blue Lace Agate - It is both a grounding and a spiritual stone, allowing for one to bring their spiritual experiences into their everyday reality. Agate is believed to improve mental functions and can help where issues of clarity and stability are concerned. Agate is also helpful in overcoming negative emotions by bringing love into the Chakras. Although they work very slowly and deliberately, this gentle nature of Agate helps it to have a lasting impact. Blue Lace Agate is great for activating and healing the Throat Chakra and for balancing the brain. This stone enhances verbal communication and expression, helping one to be more discerning in their word choices. It is said to be a very supportive stone, promoting the acceptance of one's emotions. This calming stone can help those who may be feeling depressed or worried, and is believed to bring peacefulness. Blue Lace Agate is also used for dissolving repressive blocks that inhibit expression. Writers can use Blue Lace Agate to help with articulating inspired ideas.

Selenite - Selenite calms, brings deep peace, and offers access to past and future lives. Selenite brings mental clarity, clearing confusion and revealing the bigger picture behind problems. A protective stone, Selenite shields a person or space from outside influences. Selenite can evoke protection from the angelic realm and also dispels negative energy. Selenite is a crystallized form of gypsum. The name Selenite comes from the Greek word for moon and means “moon glow," and these tumbled Selenite pieces do glow with a shimmery, pearl-like luster. The powerful vibration of Selenite opens the Crown and Higher Chakras and is excellent for meditation or spiritual work.

Sunstone  - Metaphysically, Sunstone is known for its powerful connection to the light and power of the sun. Sunstone brings light to all situations, and carrying a piece around with you can help your personal power to "shine." Once known as a stone of good luck, Sunstone has a bright, joyful energy that increases vitality and lightens dark moods. Sunstone helps empower those who feel persecuted or abandoned by others instilling confidence, optimism, encouraging motivation, and positive action. Sunstone is also useful in removing energy-draining ties to you or "hooks" into your energy by other people. It is a great stone for the Solar Plexus Chakra, but can clear and energize all Chakras. Sunstone was used by the Canadian Indians in medicine wheel rituals, by the ancient Greeks to represent the Sun Gods, and in ancient India for protection from dark forces from other realms.

Sodalite -  By stimulating the Pineal Gland, Sodalite clears the Third Eye, and deepens meditation. Working with the Throat and Third-Eye Chakras, Sodalite is thought to combine these energies in such a way as to allow the fusion of logic and intellect with intuitive knowledge. Sodalite is often used when altruism and/or idealism are needed in a situation. It can help facilitate a sense of internal knowing of the intuitive ideas that are necessary to one's spiritual evolution. Sodalite is said to promote companionship, and can be used in group settings where cooperation is needed. Sodalite can be quite helpful to someone in need of enhancing their intuitive abilities. Sodalite is also very helpful for those who seem to be encountering many difficulties in their life, as it can bring unhealthy ingrained patterns to the surface to be released, and it can promote deep self-examination to reveal underlying causes to one's problems. When dealing with such covert issues, one should work with the stone consistently, by meditating with it and possibly sleeping with it under the pillow to help bring productive dreams.

Unakite - Unakite balances the emotional and spiritual bodies, and provides gentle release of blockages. It is great for self-healing and recovery, and can be helpful to those suffering from chronic illness. It can be useful at work or home, emanating calming energies into the environment. A Third Eye Chakra stone, Unakite is good for opening one up to spiritual growth and psychic visions. Meditate with tumbled Unakite on the Third Eye to bring knowledge in from the higher self into the heart for understanding and implementation.

Seraphinite - So named for its connectivity to the highest choir of angels, Seraphinite offers spiritually beneficial energies to those who encounter it. Seraphinite is a stone of light energy. Pulling higher vibrations into the subtle bodies, It can work with each of the Chakras, infusing them with divine energies. Seraphinite can be helpful to those experiencing a reactional depression. Working with Seraphinite during meditation can help those who lack purpose to discover their place in the universe. While it is known to work with all Chakras, Seraphinite can have stronger effects on the Heart and Crown Chakras. It is also known for connecting with the devic realm and the higher self. It clears blockages in the Chakras and enhances the aura, and it can have beneficial effects for both the wearer and the person nearby. Seraphinite also makes a great crystal to keep in the home, office, or even the car, where it can emit its protective angelic energies out into the environment. Seraphinite can be used by experienced spiritual adepts to raise the Kundalini Energies up along the spinal column.  Seraphinite is well-known as a superb healing crystal, offering balance and strength where these qualities are lacking. Many crystal healers love Seraphinite for its ability to bring light energy into the DNA, for accelerated healing. Its ability to focus on the Heart and Crown Chakras adds to its healing effects in these regions of the body.

Blue Kyanite - Blue Kyanite is especially good for working with the Throat Chakra and communication issues. It helps to speak one’s truth with clarity, making it a great stone for public speakers and performers. Blue Kyanite also facilitates an alignment of all the subtle bodies, creating a larger and stronger aura. An excellent Third-Eye Chakra stone, Blue Kyanite can pull very high vibrations in through this Chakra to be processed as messages from other realms. It can transfer a high vibration, allowing for an opening of psychic abilities, especially during meditation. Blue Kyanite can also be used to promote lucid dreaming and astral travel. Kyanite transmits and amplifies high-frequency energies, making it a great stone for attunements and meditation. Kyanite brings a calming, tranquilizing energy to the body. Kyanite clears and calms you in preparation for meditation, and assists in receiving intuitive and psychic thoughts, as well as dream recall. Kyanite restores Qi (or Ki) to the physical body, and balances yin/yang energies.

Black Kyanite - This stone has the ability to unblock stagnant energies throughout the Chakras and Nadis. Many crystal healers like it because it can be at once grounding and energizing. Meditating with Black Kyanite can help one to come up with important insights resulting from exploration of the subconscious mind.

Hematite -  This helps to absorb negative energy and calms you in times of stress or worry. Hematite is a very protective stone, and is great to carry to help you stay grounded in many situations. Hematite can boost confidence, and is also good for working with the Root Chakra. Hematite can help one to find their own gifts and to release self-imposed limitations. It can help with the ascension process, by facilitating the integration of higher spiritual energies into our physical 3-D existence. Hematite is also used to protect against geopathic stress and electromagnetic smog, and is said to be a great detoxifying stone, helpful for the liver and the blood. This stone helps when one is in need of balance and equilibrium, or when having difficulty focusing energies. Hematite is also said to be useful in legal situations, and is thought to strengthen one's self-confidence.

Black Tourmaline - This stone works with the Root Chakra to ground energy and promote vitality.
Black Tourmaline is a highly protective stone that can repel all types of negativity and electromagnetic pollution. Black Tourmaline cleanses and balances the aura. It cleanses, purifies, and transforms dense energy into a lighter vibration. Carrying Tumbled Black Tourmaline can help to strengthen one's fortitude against a highly negative environment, such as what can commonly be found in the workplace. Use black tourmaline to protect against stress and to minimize obsessive thoughts. By providing much needed balance, black tourmaline can help one to remain detached and neutral, and better able to make wise decisions even during confusing situations.

Rainbow Moonstone -  Reminiscent of moonlight, the Rainbow Moonstone is partially translucent and glows with rainbow colors in blue, green, pink and/or gold. Moonstone is related to Labradorite and Rainbow Moonstone is sometimes called White Labradorite. They are perfect to use in any healing session or in your meditations. In general, Moonstone is associated with the Moon and thus is a wonderfully helpful stone for women. A stone of intuition and insight, It helps us to connect to all the different cycles we experience in life. Moonstone helps balance the emotional body, especially any aggressive tendencies in males or females. Many people find moonstone to be very soothing and use it to help relieve stress. Working with the Third-Eye and Crown Chakras, Rainbow Moonstone connects us to Divine Inspiration, and channels it into our own intuition. This stone encourages introspection and judgment, yielding easier decision making. Moonstone also enhances one's emotional vision, bringing greater creative abilities and freedom of expression. These properties are also enhanced by Rainbow Moonstone's ability to open one up to increased balance that we often cannot see due to being wrapped up in our daily routines. Rainbow Moonstone can also offer increased patience and allowing, so those newly found balances can flow into our lives unimpeded. The Rainbow Moonstone can raise our vibrational frequency to create a smoother transition into meditation. It calms the physical mind from the chatter that can affect our meditative state. This allows us to simply "BE" in that space with no distraction. Rainbow Moonstone allows the Crown Chakra and those above to open and bring in loving white healing energies that will flow through us to the very core of our being. Rainbow Moonstone helps us to remember our true nature.

Carnelian - Used in ancient times to protect the dead in their journey to the afterlife, Carnelian Agate, usually just called Carnelian, is a powerful Sacral Chakra Stone. Carnelian increases personal power and physical energy, gives courage, and boosts creativity and compassion. Mentally, Carnelian focuses analytical capabilities, and aids meditation by allowing deeper concentration and keeping out interrupting thoughts. Carnelian is useful in making decisions by keeping us focused on the here and now and not on past experiences. Carnelian calms anger and grounds you in reality, while keeping you aware of unconditional Love permeating the Universe. Carnelian encourages initiative and determination.

Needless to say I am becoming good friends with the people that work at the gem store here in Asheville, and they definitely know it's Thursday when they see me!

Sympathy For The Devil

Ever since the moon started waning I've been working on letting go of some things that are just not working in my life and things that I feel are holding me back. Among some of those things are negative self talk, and drinking alcohol.

Back in my teens, twenties, and early thirties I drank quite heavily and pretty much every day. Something happened though and the desire to drink was completely taken away from me. I no longer even had a taste for it. I simply didn't want it. It was really weird and could almost be described as being something of a miracle. I didn't drink from my early thirties until just recently and I started drinking a little wine because I felt that would be okay. Wrong...it gave the taste for alcohol back to me.

Like I said I've been working on letting it go along with negative self talk. Something really strange happened in my mind this morning that I want to share with you. I had gotten up really super early....like 3 am early...anyway, I decided to see who was online on a website that men in my area use to hook up. I started talking to a man and found out that he lives near me. There was a problem though....neither of us drive. He was afraid to walk to my place because I live in a pretty rough area of the city. I'm used to it...I've been down on this level for a long time and have become pretty street wise. Actually, I have gotten to know most of the crackheads and prostitutes around here. I was trying to decide if I wanted to walk to his place. I told him that I couldn't make up my mind and he asked me what it would take to convince me. I thought, "Well now..." I told him that I thought that was an interesting, intriguing question. He offered to give me a couple of beers when I got there to rejuvenate me from the exertion of walking there. That did it for me....a chance to hook up and have a few beers....yee haa....

When I got there, the man had a really nice house with expensive stuff all around. He's nice looking and super intelligent and after the dirty deed I'm sitting there drinking my fourth beer in the span of like an hour and we're talking. We had a really good conversation. I found out that he does conflict resolution for law firms, has traveled extensively, and several other facts that made me want to be in his reality instead of the one I'm in. I finished my beer and told him that I had better start walking back home. I started walking and I had a damned good buzz going on. I was making my way through the city back home and suddenly a song popped into my mind. Just the first line....I couldn't remember any more of the lyrics. That first line just kept playing over and over. Please allow me to introduce myself, please allow me to introduce myself. The sun had just started coming up and I'm walking past some of the bars downtown when I started noticing really large cigarette butts on the sidewalk. I've been homeless before and not had any money and have resorted at times to picking up butts like that and smoking them so I started picking up the ones I saw this morning and sticking them in my jacket pocket for hard times.

Enter the negative self talk... I'm not going to go into all that my mind was saying to me but it wasn't good and I knew it but couldn't stop it. All the time that one lyric was playing in the background of all the negative chatter going on. Please allow me to introduce myself, please allow me to introduce myself. I was almost home when I caught a glance of the crescent moon. I remembered how I had intended to let go of the drinking and negative self talk and here I was doing both. I actually started shaking my head and kinda doing hand motions like I was shaking it all off. I did that several times and said out loud while nobody was around, "Shake it off....let it go..."

I got back in my apartment and I sat down at the computer and googled the song lyrics I had been hearing. Turned out it was an old Rolling Stones song...."Sympathy For The Devil." A song about Lucifer introducing himself to somebody. Pretty creepy huh? Now I'm trying to think what the hell that could mean. Did it mean something or was it just a weird coincidence or something? I don't know yet....what do you think? Shake it off...let it go....shake it off....let it go...

Healing

I got an incredible amount of energy from this past Full Moon and have been bombarded with helpful, healing information and resources ever since. At times I have felt a bit overwhelmed and have had the feeling of not being able to keep up with everything that has been coming to me. I have literally had to force myself to step away from it and find some time to be mindful and try to meditate on grounding myself. I have been talking to my therapist about the importance of finding balance in my life and since I've never really had that this is all new to me. Having a spiritual awakening and finding a new balance in your life at the same time is proving to be quite a challenge but I feel up to it at this time. I really feel like I can look at myself in the mirror now and say honestly, "I'm healing..." The story of the phoenix keeps popping into my mind and what is really strange is the fact that I did a fun little chart the other day that gave you your "hippy name" by using the first letter of your first name and the date of the day you were born. My "hippy name" turned out to be Phoenix Star..." I've decided I might just use that from time to time. I like the way it sounds and feels and it kind of has personal meaning for me!

A Mother's Love....

Heartfelt

This is an experiment in free form.....I am going to make a journal post and let my thoughts just flow.....

First off I want to say that I picture my Mother in Heaven today with a beautiful tiara on with a flowing gown of jewels for the years she spent dealing with me. she suffered and she suffered a lot and worked and worked and worked may she be at rest and perfectly blissful may she escape the cycle of rebirth.....I have everything that I need I desire a lot but I need nothing nothing has changed but everything has changed it is me that has changed I am healing I know my path and i am on it now i may retrace my footsteps from time to time but i know my course and i am still on it I am healing I am coming back I am here and I have a purpose and we will all heal together and I will try to heal as many people as I can as I myself am healing. I am in the trenches and spiritual warfare is my game but I have tools that I use that will help me to overcome, I just saw a butterfly fly by my 6th floor apartment window the spirit of the gods is with me now and always.the way i see to go is clear and the path is lined as the streets of heaven with pure gold that shines as though it were glass...

Life Is Too Ironic

I Worried

I worried a lot. Will the garden grow, will the rivers
flow in the right direction, will the earth turn
as it was taught, and if not how shall
I correct it?

Was I right, was I wrong, will I be forgiven, can I do better?

Will I ever be able to sing, even the sparrow
can do it and I am, well,
hopeless.

Is my eyesight fading or am I just imagining it,
am I going to get rheumatism,
lockjaw, dementia?

Finally I saw that worrying had come to nothing.
And gave it up. And took my old body
and went out into the morning,
and sang.

The Waxing Moon

There is a building increase of intentions,
Charged with particles of light and energy.
Sparkling with vibratory life,
The swirling divinity of my Soul,
Is like tingling bells through my ethereal body.
Reaching for the Lunar Goddess,
It strives to find the power of creation,
Evermore moving toward fruition.

Raven Child

There Is A Way

Oh, raven child, believe the wind,
The sun has called your name,
The lonely dark, between the stars,
May too soon make it's claim.

Your spoken song will sanctify,
The travelers of old,
Your blackened coat can testify,
The journey of your soul.

Oh, raven child the canyons wild,
Can swallow all your dreams,
Go, not alone, go well-supplied,
To deal with the extremes.

Your playful games along the cliffs,
Are strengthening your wings,
But, be advised some compromise,
Must inform all these things.

There is a way to ride the wind,
And still know where to stand,
Down by the sea, along the ridge,
Or out upon the land.

Take your time among the trees,
Follow their roots to the stream,
Learn from their fruits and their leaves,
Learn from your days and your dreams.

There is a way,
There is a way,
There is a way.

Oh, raven child, behold the trees,
Their loving limbs held high,
These open arms can shelter you,
And lift you to the sky.

Their roottedness has spoken for....
The strength of standing still...
Without our legs, we break our wings...
Our journey unfulfilled.

There is a way to ride the wind,
And still know where to stand,
Down by the sea, along the ridge,
Or out upon the land.

Take your time among the trees,
Follow their roots to the stream,
Learn from their fruits and their leaves,
Learn from your days and your dreams.

There is a way,
There is a way,
There is a way.

Awaken

I will now ground and center myself. The Earth’s energy flows through my feet, into my legs, and into my pelvis at the base of my spine. My Root Chakra awakens. I can visualize and feel the red swirl of energy vibrating with Divine Life. I know who I am, and I belong. I will feel grounded and safe, today and always. I am connected to all of life and the universe. All of my needs will be met.

The energy moves up my body pausing just below my navel. My Sacral Chakra awakens. I can visualize and feel the orange swirl of energy vibrating with Divine Life. I feel well and enjoy the pleasures of my body. All of my relationships, even the most casual, have spiritual value. I am a creative being. I am grateful for all I have and know that more is on the way.

The energy moves up my body pausing at my Solar Plexus - the dip under my breastbone. I can visualize and feel the yellow swirl of energy of the Chakra awaken. It is full of confidence and vibrating with Divine Life. I am honorable in the relationship I have with myself. I accept the responsibility for the person I've become. I am worthy of all good things. I have the confidence I need to interact with others and my surroundings. I have the confidence to make the choices that are best for me, and the freedom to do so.

The energy moves up my body pausing at my Heart Chakra above my breastbone. I can visualize and feel the green swirl of energy awaken. It is full of love, strength, energy, and balance. It vibrates with Divine Life. Love is Divine Power. I love myself. I can live peacefully in this world. Let my interactions with people bring peace and love. Let me see things in peo;le that others may not see.

The energy moves up my body pausing at my Throat Chakra – in the hollow of my throat. I can visualize and feel the sky blue swirl of energy awaken. I feel myself release my will to Divine Guidance as the Chakra vibrates with Divine Life. My every choice has global consequences. My actions will be motivated by my trust and faith in Divine Authority. My faith is strong and pure. I will listen to everyone’s truth and share mine if they wish.

The energy moves up my body pausing at my Third Eye Chakra – between my eyebrows. I can visualize and feel the indigo swirl of energy awaken. I can see the things that lie within, and feel the intuition that brings messages from my higher self. May I be able to discern between truth and illusion. As the Chakra vibrates with Divine Life, I feel able to hear all the true messages and follow them without reserve.

The energy moves up my body pausing at my Crown Chakra – at the middle of the top of my head. I can visualize and feel the amethyst, blending with white, swirl of energy awaken. It vibrates with Divine Life. I can feel myself letting go. No more emotional illusions of fear. I no longer hold on to the past. I do not anticipate the future. I live in the presence of the Divine Now…

The Waning Moon

And like a dying lady, lean and pale,
Who totters forth, wrapped in a gauzy veil,
Out of her chamber, led by the insane
And feeble wanderings of her fading brain,
The moon arose up in the murky east,
A white and shapeless mass.

The Ultimate Attainment

The past is already past.
Don't try to regain it.
The present does not stay.
Don't try to touch it.
From moment to moment.
The future has not come;
Don't think about it beforehand.
Whatever comes to the eye,
Leave it be.
There are no commandments to be kept;
There's no filth to be cleansed.
With empty mind really penetrated,
The dharmas have no life.
When you can be like this,
You've completed the ultimate attainment.

The Curtains Open For Awhile

You can't imagine how hard it is to deal with having anxiety problems on top of being Bipolar. Several months ago my medicines started to gradually help me less and less. The last several weeks have been the worst. Don't get me wrong, every now and then the curtains part and I have a good day or two, but then they close again and I'm back to my funk. Today is Monday and it's the first day I've actually left my apartment and gone outside since Thursday evening. I was in my funk most of the day but for some reason about 5:00 the curtains drew open and I've been able to do a few things. I decided I would catch up my journal posts on here while it lasts.

Tomorrow will be my 13th week doing the Hepatitis C treatment with the Ribavirin, Olysio, and Sovaldi. I reached the half-way point last week and had a viral count done. The results showed that the virus is still undetectable and all my other blood work looked good. I still get fatigued and have headaches but I can handle that.

I had been having really bad chest pains when I tried to walk anywhere and even sometimes at rest but finally realized that it was due to my heavy smoking. I tried to use nicotine patches to quit but failed miserably with them. A good friend of mine suggested that I get an electronic hookah that burns flavored oils that contain varying amounts of nicotine and you "smoke" vapor instead of actual paper and tobacco smoke (as well as all the chemicals they put in cigarettes). So I'm using one of those now and I love it. My chest has already started to heal up and feel better. I really think this is so much healthier for me. I'll be able to gradually cut down on the amount of nicotine in the flavors I'm using. Right now I'm "vapeing" a combination of vanilla and smooth tobacco. I plan on getting some cappuccino and caramel flavors next.

I've been working on a script of sorts to use to cast the first circle I've done in a long time on the night of the new moon the 29th....there's a solar eclipse the same day...anyway, I have some pretty cool intentions I want to incorporate into my ceremony. I'm calling this my medicine wheel circle and it's based on ideas I got from The Four Winds Society website. After creating my sacred space I am going to face each corresponding direction and recite the following:

North
Earth
Wisdom
Just as the hummingbird makes the seemingly impossible migration from Canada all the way to Brazil, I too will embark on the epic mythic journey when Spirit calls. Although I don’t know where I’m going or how I’ll get there, I will learn how to follow my soul’s guidance to the flowers with the sweetest nectar to sustain me on my way. I will step outside of linear time and into sacred time in the infinite to heal my past and chart my destiny. I will assume the role of author of my own story and I will burn all my limiting roles so that I can be fully available when Spirit calls

East
Air
Benevolence
Just like an eagle, I will spread my wings and soar high above the world. I will forget the minute details of my life and my old identifications, and I will let myself see everything from a greater perspective. I will come to know that everything that appears to be outside of me in life is really inside of me. I will learn how to own my projections so that I can come into a proper relationship with them and create the world of my dreams. I will learn how to identify and close the “back doors” in my life, which siphon my vital life force and prevent me from making my dreams reality.

South
Fire
Appropriate Behavior
In the same way that a snake sheds its skin, I will shed the stories that bind me to my painful past and prevent me from stepping into a bright future. I will come into a proper relationship with who I have been, who I am, and who I am becoming. I will create the world I desire. I will visualize luminous bands of protection in my energy field which will allow me to be more present and available for life, instead of wasting my energy trying to hide in fear from a terrifying world. I will follow, trust, and effectively use my intuition as a valuable tool in navigating through the world.

West
Water
Justice
Just as the jaguar has no predators in the jungle, I will learn to have no enemies in this world or beyond. I will leave behind the traditional archetype of the violent warrior and step into the way of the luminous warrior, who speaks only truth, walks truth, and calls truth. I will break free from the grip of fear. I will explore inherited ancestral and karmic patterns that propel me toward my destiny. I will come into right relation with these patterns and I will honor the gifts of my ancestors, so that I can set them free and empower myself to create the world of my dreams.

I guess that's all I had to share for now guys....let's hope the curtains on the stage my life is performed on stay open for awhile this time.

Enjoy life!

For A New Beginning

In out-of-the-way places of the heart,
Where your thoughts never think to wander,
This beginning has been quietly forming,
Waiting until you were ready to emerge.

For a long time it has watched your desire,
Feeling the emptiness growing inside you,
Noticing how you willed yourself on,
Still unable to leave what you had outgrown.

It watched you play with the seduction of safety
And the gray promises that sameness whispered,
Heard the waves of turmoil rise and relent,
Wondered would you always live like this.

Then the delight, when your courage kindled,
And out you stepped onto new ground,
Your eyes young again with energy and dream,
A path of plenitude opening before you.

Though your destination is not yet clear
You can trust the promise of this opening;
Unfurl yourself into the grace of beginning
That is at one with your life's desire.

Awaken your spirit to adventure;
Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk;
Soon you will be home in a new rhythm,
For your soul senses the world that awaits you.

Lonely Alone

Does anyone ever feel alone?
I doubt it...
Cause I'm alone.
And I must be the only one...

Is there meat on that bone?
Give it here....
Cause I'm starved.
And being starved, I want it all...

Do you see that field over there?
Go run in it...
Cause that's what I wanna do.
And being ill, I can't make it...

Do you get a hug and loving each night?
You better relish in it...
I hate you for it.
I'm alone...

No Words Needed...
